Newark FFA Chapter Earns Gold Emblem Designation

The Newark FFA Chapter was recognized with the National Chapter Gold Emblem Award on June 10 at the annual Illinois FFA Convention. The convention is held June 8-10 at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

The National Chapter Gold Emblem Award celebrates the top FFA Chapters in the country for their outstanding Program of Activities in the past year. The Gold Emblem is the highest rank a chapter can receive in the state.

More than 3,500 FFA members, advisors, parents, and guests participated in the 82nd Illinois FFA State Convention. There are 17,400 members in 301 different FFA chapters in the State of Illinois. The National FFA Organization is a national youth organization preparing students for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture.
