Newark FFA 1st in Section Land-use

Illinois FFA Foundation

The 2006 Illinois Foundation FFA Collection Drive is now in progress. On behalf of the Newark FFA Chapter, we would like to ask you for your help to support us this year again.
Last year, over 7,000 businesses and individuals supported the Illinois Foundation FFA. Our goal this year is $375,000, I am asking you to help us reach this goal and make an investment in the future by supporting our collection drive. Your donation will go into a general fund, which supports the FFA program in Illinois.
The FFA has long been noted for teaching and developing leadership, citizenship, cooperation, and entrepreneurship. Your support will help the FFA maintain strong, viable leadership training and incentive programs for all FFA members in Illinois.
In past years we have honored your requests to support FFA on the local level instead of the state level. We would like to make that opportunity to you again. You may donate all your contribution to the state, local or both. For many contributors, who have donated for 30-40-50 years to the foundation we still encourage you to support the state foundation.
The Newark FFA Chapter will be taking donations to the Newark FFA and putting them into a fund to purchase and build a greenhouse for the Agriculture Education program here at Newark Community High School.
Members of the Newark FFA Chapter will be stopping by to answer any questions you might have and to receive any contribution you would care to give. You may expect them the week of December 4th, 2006. If you wish you might mail your contribution to: Newark Community High School, c/o Joe Steffen, 413 Chicago Road, Newark, Illinois 60541. Please include the bottom portion of this letter.
Thank-you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Larry Testin
Newark FFA President

Agriculture Department Greenhouse

The Newark Agricultural Education Department recieved a grant to improve agricultural education program by building a greenhouse. The plans are being made to build a 30' X 60' greenhouse. Money and donations of time, labor, and materials are needed to finish the job to hopefully be completed by mid to late spring just in time to start a fall mum crop and pointsettia crop in the fall. If interested in helping out please contact Mr. Steffen.
